Responsibilities and Qualifications

Under general direction the Operations Supervisor exercises independent judgment and are responsible for daily field operations and support of field and dispatch personnel in the provision of pre-hospital triage, emergency medical care and transport. Operations Supervisors respond to scenes as necessary in support of EMS personnel and other emergency services agencies, performing direct patient care including assessment, evaluation, basic and advanced life support according to the goals of St. John s Health system, the philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy Standard of Care and Employee Code of Conduct. Operations Supervisors also perform clerical, maintenance duties and act as preceptors of EMT and paramedic students when working regular shifts on an ambulance. Operations Supervisors are active members of the Regional WMD team and respond with the team as needed. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his/her responsibilities and integrate into his/her style of management the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life, and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he/she has responsibility.

  • Education:No education requirement
  • Licensure:Valid State of Missouri EMT-P license Chauffeur s license and safe driving record required. Preferred EMT instructor. PALS within 6 months of hire/transfer, ACLS required. Drivers License appropriate for the state of EMS licensure.
  • Experience:Background as an EMT and experience with driving emergency vehicles. Three years field experience, teaching experience, ACLS provider.
  • Other:Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to promote a team environment. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads. Work in all climatic conditions of the Southwest Missouri region. Is exposed to the elements on a daily basis; incurring dangerous situations on an occasional basis. Lift and carry pre-hospital care equipment and patients over all types of terrain. Incumbents will be required to successfully satisfy the physical demands of the role. This will include a pre-hire and annual fitness for duty test.
  • Preferred Education:Associated degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Preferred Licensure:BTLS Provider

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
